Personalised lessons for advanced surfers, time to get in the greenroom!

Suitable for
This lesson introduces the surfer to one of the best experiences in surfing, tube riding. This is a great opportunity to get into repeated barrels to practice this skill. During this lesson the surfer will learn the basics of setting the line and positioning to enable safe and successful negotiation of the hollow section of the barrel.
Safety Overview
Please ensure that you have watched the safety video and completed your waiver before arriving. Please arrive 45 minutes before your session.
The water depth in The Bays is up to 1.2 metres deep, there are currents moving throughout the lagoon. We recommend anyone under the age of 10 to have a Surf Buddy in the water.
Learning Advanced Barrels
Structured Lessons
Led by our friendly, expert coaches, our 1 hour and 45 minute Advanced Barrel surf lessons include 30 minutes of on-land practice and warm up exercises, 1 hour of in-the-water surfing time and tailored instruction at The Point, followed by 15 minutes to warm down and discuss your lesson outcomes.
Small Classes
Our group Advanced Barrels lessons have a maximum of 4 participants per instructor to ensure that you get plenty of time with your coach. For 1-on-1 instruction, try one of our private intermediate lessons.
Gear Included
Our advanced barrels surf lessons include complimentary softboard and wetsuit hire, if you have your own hardboard, we encourage our students to bring it along. Otherwise, one of our friendly Hire Store staff can help you find a hardboard at an additional cost.

Our 1 hour and 45 minute Advanced Barrels Lessons include board and wetsuit hire, a 30 minute briefing, land practice and warm up, 1 hour surfing The Point under the guidance of an expert coach, and 15 minutes to warm down and recap.

Advanced Surf Lessons

Score an hour’s worth of perfect waves on our Advanced settings – rights or lefts – at The Point.
Numbers are capped on each side of The Point so each surfer scores around 10-12 waves per session.
Surf Progression 5 Week Program
Our Learn To Surf, Beginner II, Cruiser, Progressive Turns, Intermediate, Advanced Turns and Advanced Barrels Programs include morning, afternoon or evening lessons with the same coach, at the same time each week.
Includes 5 x 1 hour and 45 minute group surf lesson, including 2 hour board and wetsuit hire.

To reinforce the skills you acquire during your Advanced Barrels Lesson, book in an Advanced Session. Running daily at The Point, our Advanced Sessions are perfect for generating speed, practicing maneuvers, getting barreled and solidifying your technique!

URBNSURF Professional Photography Services
URBNSURF photographers are on site each day to capture your perfect waves. Whether you are a pro or just starting out, we take photos of sessions both at The Point and in The Bays including lessons. Photos are available within an hour of your surf either onsite at the URBNSURF Green Room-Hut or online. The high-quality images make a great memory of your experience.
