About Progressive Turns
Progressive Turns offers perfect point-break style waves with enough power to be enjoyed by surfers on all craft. A little bit bigger with a steeper take-off than Cruiser, it’s the perfect wave if you are looking to start transitioning to Intermediate and beyond. It’s also an ideal session if you want to work on your technique with a consistent shape and a rippable pocket.

Its been a long time since you last surfed, or you are just starting to pop-up more consistently. You love the smaller breaks and are in it for the good vibes and the improvement.

Suitable For
Novice surfers who have progressed from the Cruiser session and can surf unassisted. Great for all surfers looking to refine their surfing and work up towards Intermediate and beyond.
Safety Overview
Please ensure that you have watched the safety video and completed your waiver before arriving. Please arrive 45 minutes before your session.
The water depth in The Bays is up to 1.2 metres deep, there are currents moving throughout the lagoon. We recommend anyone under the age of 10 to have a Surf Buddy in the water.

The waves in Progressive Turns surf sessions are awesome for those who are stepping up from Cruiser or frothers after an all-rounder wave providing enough power to be enjoyed on all crafts!
Day Or Night
Our state-of-the-art stadium sports lighting makes early morning and night surfing in Sydney possible, running until 10pm in the Summer months.
Limited Crowds
To ensure high wave counts, numbers are capped at 18 surfers on each side of The Point, per session. Surfer priority is managed with a strict but fair one-at-a-time system – wait your turn, and when your wave comes, it’s yours.
Access To Amenities
When you book a Progressive Turns surf session at The Point, you’ll also receive all-day access to URBNSURF Sydney’s amenities, including Surf Side lawns, leisure pool and more.
Extra Safety
URBNSURF offers free Simba helmets for use during all surf sessions, plus surf guides will be in the water with you to provide tips and supervision.

Progressive Turns Lessons
Develop your skills and progress your surfing!
You will surf with one of our expert Surf Coaches at a ratio of 1:6.
Our 1 hour and 45 minute Progressive Lessons include board and wetsuit hire, a 30 minute briefing, land practice and warm up, 1 hour surfing The Point under the guidance of an expert coach, and 15 minutes to warm down and recap.
