Surf Progression 5 Week Program
Ready to progress your surfing ability?
Whether this is your first time surfing, have previously completed a surf lesson, or want to work on your technique, the Surf Progression Program is perfect to improve your surfing.
You can sign up for Beginner, Beginner Progressive, Cruiser, Progressive Turns, Intermediate, Advanced Turns & Barrels training with the same coach, at the same time each week. Your progress will be accelerated through tailored instruction and weekly repetition.
The next Surf Progression Program starts the week commencing Monday 15th April 2024.
Please Note: There are some programs which can not run on a specific date and will be a 4-Week Program. These are outlined below!

Beginner
A starting point for anyone who wants to take up surfing! You will learn:
- Safety techniques
- Basic Surf Etiquette
- Board control
- Steps to get up and start surfing

Beginner Progressive
Feeling comfortable in the water? Then you are ready for:
- Practice catching waves unassisted
- Catch unbroken waves
- Develop paddling technique and start using the rip
- Refine your leap to feet
- Start to trim left and right

- Building consistency in wave entry on steeper waves
- Develop skills in wave usage, speed generation and develop round turns
- Increase wave and equipment knowledge
- Use video review and land-based surf simulation to accelerate progression

Barrels

- Practice and cement skill to ensue repeated barrels
- Setting the line and positioning to enable safe and successful negotiation of hollow section of barrel
